Hoffman Towers (Blocks 11 & 12) – Alexandria, Virginia
christopher provided all entitlements, surveying and land development services for the Hoffman Towers. Working with the WMATA Adjacent Construction Manual, christopher was integral in obtaining the needed permits to WMATA. Innovative sanitary sewer design solutions were needed to mitigate peak flows during wet weather in 72” Holmes Run trunk sewer. Other challenges included working around the Virginia Power overhead and underground transmission mains, coordination with VDOT and the FHA on new ramps from the Beltway onto the site and creative BMP/water quality control measures.
The Hoffman Towers are residential properties that sit on blocks 11 and 12 of the 56-acre Hoffman Town Center development along Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia. The Hoffman Towers will consist of multiple residential towers ranging in height from 22 to 33 stories. The tallest building will rise 396 feet to be the tallest building in Northern Virginia and one of the tallest in the metropolitan area. The tower on block 11 will include 608 residential units and a 50,000 square foot Harris Teeter grocery store on the ground level. The tower on block 12 will include a 5-level underground parking garage with 1279 spaces.
