Alexandria Renew Administration Building – Alexandria, Virginia
This project is a major development initiated by Alexandria Renew Enterprises, formerly the Alexandria Sanitation Authority. The project involves construction of an innovative new Nutrient Management Facility and related buildings on the west side of the Alexandria Renew campus. The new facility will be a state-of-the-art nutrient management facility that will allow Alexandria Renew to better manage the biological treatment process that removes nitrogen from wastewater. Large concrete holding tanks, a pump station, electrical facilities and an odor control system will work in tandem to produce water that meets all environmental standards and helps in the effort to clean and renew the Chesapeake Bay.
The most innovative aspect of the design is that all major treatment facilities as well as structured parking will be hidden from sign under a major recreation and park area that is set to transform the surrounding community. christopher consultants is providing civil engineering and survey services for the design of the administration building that will be adjacent to the soccer field and fronts on Limerick Street.
