Monitored sites included the Washington Monument, the Washington Monument Lodge, the Department of Commerce building and the National Museum of American History. christopher monitored the buildings for Clark Construction by means of optical surveying methodology in order to detect any potential vertical settlement, lateral settlement or general movement of the four structures.
Occupying the last available space on the National Mall, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture will be located between the National Museum of American History and 15th Street, next to the Washington Monument. The museum is scheduled to be open to the public in 2016.
