Montgomery College Science Center – Rockville, Maryland
christopher consultants worked with Clark Construction to build the new Montgomery College Science Center in Rockville, Maryland. christopher provided pre-construction services including site grading, sanitary sewer stakeout, horizontal and vertical control, stakeout of building pads and underground utility work. christopher also provided horizontal and vertical control and as-built surveys.
The Montgomery College Science Center is a 140,000 square-foot instructional building that includes new laboratories, recitation rooms and faculty offices for Montgomery College’s departments of biology, chemistry, physics, engineering and geosciences. The facility also includes a greenhouse and rooftop observatory. The Montgomery College Science Center had a total budget of $51 million and was designed to achieve a LEED Gold Certification, with green design elements including photovoltaic solar panels and a green roof.
