Georgia Avenue Walmart – Washington, DC
christopher provided surveying consulting services to Foulger-Pratt to assist in the construction of the Georgia Avenue Walmart, one of the first Walmart stores to be opened in Washington DC. From building control services to the construction stakeout of all major infrastructure and roadway improvements, christopher was instrumental in facilitating quality surveying services to keep our client’s schedule on track for the opening in December of 2013.
The Georgia Avenue Walmart, the second Walmart store in Washington DC, is newly constructed and opened at the intersection of George Avenue NW and Missouri Avenue NW in the revitalized neighborhood of Brightwood in Washington DC. This urban-friendly concept, designed and realized by MWA Architects, provides a smaller footprint than a traditional “big box” retail store and utilizes many “green” design aspects to complement the city setting of northwest DC. The Georgia Avenue Walmart encompasses 106,000 square feet of retail and grocery, with two levels of underground parking and has integrated many architectural features from the previously standing car barn structure in the main atrium of the new store.
