George Mason University Term – Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William, Virginia
christopher consultants for ten years held a term contract to provide civil engineering, surveying, environmental support services and stormwater management services for George Mason University at the Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William campuses. christopher performed topographic and as-built surveys, designed spot intersection improvements, provided traffic signal design, conducted a storm sewer inventory and provided repair services, provided master SWM/BMP planning services and location surveys for buildings, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterlines, power lines and communications cables.
Significant projects include the mapping of the Northeast Sector of the Fairfax Campus. This included topographic surveying, structure locations, and all utility locations including wet and dry utilities. This project also included working with multiple jurisdictions and utility companies to determine the size and capacity of the services within the area. Other projects included Mason Pond Road, the Mason Inn and Conference Center and Hotel, Aquia River Road reconstruction plans and Construction Administration (CA) services, Nottoway River Lane culvert replacement and boundary surveys for all campuses.
christopher completed over 300 projects over ten years and managed utility coordination with Dominion Power, Verizon, Cox Communications, Washington Gas and the University’s own communications and IT personnel concerning utility relocations and upgrades as well.
christopher’s projects at Mason included conceptual designs to detailed construction plans. They were typically scoped as lump sum projects and only three times have we had to submit change orders for additional services to be provided. Our projects started with a schedule that is agreed upon with Mason and the products were delivered on time.
