christopher consultants is pleased to announced that our Senior Project Manager Chris Lemon, P.E., LEED AP, has recently obtained his Loudoun County Designated Plans Examiner (DPE) status. His application was recommended for acceptance by the Loudoun Advisory Plans Examiner Board and was voted on by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, who approved his certification.
To become a DPE in Loudoun County, applicants must meet minimum qualifications that include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, completion of the Board of Supervisors’ Specified Program, a minimum of two years of experience in the field, attendance in specified continuing education courses, and the consistent preparation and submission of plans which meet all applicable ordinances and regulations in Loudoun County.
As a DPE in Loudoun County, Chris will be able to review and approve new site plans, ensuring that all legal codes are being followed. He will also check that proper building permits have been obtained and that the plans meet public health and safety standards. The designation requires a large breadth of knowledge in Loudoun County codes and regulations, as well as a skill in accurately reading maps, drawings and plans. The certification is both a professional milestone for those receiving it and an asset to christopher consultants for our work in Loudoun County.
